Hike around the Gratlspitze
Of mountain tales and panoramic views
Join us and experience an impressive hike with stunning views and a picturesque mountain backdrop! The Gratlspitze has its allure from every side, and with this circular hike, you'll encounter a variety of landscapes. Starting from the village center in Alpbach, we'll make our way around the Gratlspitze, passing through the Hösljoch and returning to Alpbach. Throughout the hike, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Tyrolean mountain world.
The natural landscape surrounding the Gratlspitze is characterized by its unique flora. Along the way, you can admire native orchid species, such as lady's slipper, and lily plants, such as Turk's cap lilies.
You will also get answers to the following questions on this tour:
- How are our forests adapting to the changing climate?
- What is the role of dead wood and woodpeckers in the forest?
- What does natural regeneration mean and what is a near-natural forest?
On the hike you will experience a primeval forest and its structures at first hand. There are important habitats such as wetlands and ponds to discover.
Due to the mining of copper and silver until the mid-19th century, the Gratlspitze has always been of great importance. Your mountain guide will provide interesting insights into the history, flora, and fauna of the area.
