Take the long way around the Rosskopf

Take the Markbachjoch cable car to the top in Niederau. Turn right after exiting the car. T The walking path nr. 2 bears left and leads to the Cheese Alm, a beautiful spot to take refreshments. Continue on route 2 to the tiny Hörlerstiegl Chapel and turn right here. After 5 minutes turn left onto route 33 and follow this down to Auffach (600 m). Take the Bachpromenade path from Auffach towards Mühltal and climb quite steeply back up to Oberau/Roggenboden. Follow St Francis' Path back to Niederau or take the hiing bus back.
